Replace self-pity with gratitude
Instead of indulging yourself with self-pity, see what you could learn from that difficult situation and move on. No one is privileged to get what they want. To get what you want, you fall, you stand up and move on; you fail and you try new things. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, look forward and move on.
Don’t let the opinion of others dictate your life
Stop worrying about what others say and think of you. Don’t allow them to take away your power. Hold on to what you have and success will follow.
Don’t hold a grudge
To become powerful and to be able to focus on yourself, you need to forgive others. When you forgive unconditionally, you set yourself free.
Embrace change
Be aware of what your mind tells you. You decide if you listen to what it says. Most of the time those voices will try to scare you to make a change and choose what they know. Once you learn to control these voices, you will embrace change and you will not be scared to try new opportunities.
Make the change
A good action plan will help you lead to success. Set goals, decide on your daily routines to reach that goal, list possible setbacks you might face to reach that goal, and finally review and keep track of your progress.
Accept the fact that you will face things that are out of your control.
Focus on what you can do and what you can control. Being less controlling can help you increase your well-being. It will improve your relationships and your happiness. Don’t waste your time and energy on things you can’t control.
Don’t fear hurting other people’s feeling
Don’t try to change yourself to please others. If you disagree with something, speak up, and give them your opinion. Listening to yourself and sharing your opinions will make you more confident and also happier. No, this does not allow you to be nasty to others, it just allows you not to please others at the expense of your priorities.
Choosing safety and comfort won’t take you far in life
Take calculated risks. Give some rational thoughts on the risk you are about to take. See what is at stake. If the worst-case scenario happens, would it be the end of the world for you? Find out what risks hold you back to move forward in life. Once you give them a good analysis they might not be as scary as you thought.
Don’t let your past prevent you move forward
You can find constructive ways to move forward no matter how traumatic your past was. Don’t hide away from your past; come to terms with it. Accept and forgive your past, so you can make a better future for yourself and others.
Don’t fall back on old bad habits
Learn from your mistakes. Ask yourself what did you do wrong? What could you have done? What could you do differently next time? By doing this practice, you will have a better idea of how to act next time.
Don’t envy others, learn from them
Resenting and envying others’ success will only bring you more misery. Instead, try to learn and admire the success of others. This kind of mindset will help you attract people with who you could learn and collaborate.
Use your failures as stepping stones to something greater
Failures are learning opportunities that will show you what works and what doesn’t. Talent and skills will get you started, but only perseverance and your hunger for success will help you succeed and move forward. So talent is not the key factor in success only perseverance is.
Don’t be afraid to spend time on your own
This is a perfect opportunity for rejuvenation, inspiration, and reflection. Think about your goals. Listen to your feelings. See if there are any negative feelings that you need to pay attention to. Meditate and relax to become calmer and more resilient.
No one owes you anything
Don’t wait for something good to happen. Take the charge of your own life. Instead of focusing on what you will get and what others can offer you, focus on what you can give.
Stay with your long term goals
Long-term goals will take time. You just need to stick around to see it. Follow these 3 steps to get mental clarity to stay with your long-term goals:
Step 1 – Accept the fact that it will be timely and difficult. Once you accept this fact, you will have a better chance to succeed in the change you want to make.
Step 2 – Accept the fact that it may take longer than you anticipated. So don’t have any fixed deadlines. Have a rough, realistic time scale in mind, and know that this time scale can change.
Step 3 – Aim for small wins. These small wins will get you going till your reach your long-term goals.
Strep 4 – Don’t expect that achieving your goals will make everything else make OK.
